HELLO AND WELCOME!
My name is Tyler Greenwood, and I will be the one capturing some moments in time with you.
My focus is on natural looking photographs with minimal editing - to better represent your true self in a light you will appreciate. I offer studio style photos but prefer natural outdoors environments which capitalize on the real moments of our lives.
During each and every photo shoot, I learn a little, laugh a lot, and pause time to capture moments clients didn't even know they were looking for.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH PHOTOGRAPHY
I've been taking photos from a very young age. It all started for me with blackberries in my great-grandfather's garden when I was 8. I quickly found a love for macro (close-up) photography to see the finer details of the small things.
Later, and after years of practice capturing things that captivated me, I leaned into the art of portrait photography. Far more complex - but far more rewarding. Capturing people was intricate, took finesse, and required patience. This gave me more of a reason to chase the feeling of getting it right and producing reflections that people never saw in themselves.
In high school, I gave my friends an alternative to typical senior portraits. We would travel out to locations together as friends, where we laughed, acted natural, and stopped time together to produce senior portraits that made them feel like themselves.
Since graduating several years ago, I have provided this experience to dozens to friends and new clients, alike. I branched out into several types of photography to explore personal challenges for myself - but always gravitated back my favorite subject: people.
Now, I offer this kind of photography experience to anyone looking for something simple without overpaying.
I never liked sitting on a stool in front of a backdrop and being told to tilt my chin slightly to the left. It didn't feel like me. So, for my clients we avoid the traditional approach to portraits and achieve something a little less perfect, and a little more human.
LATEST SESSIONS
Justin just made a huge step in his career and joined a new company. He was looking for professional headshots to use as the company announcement on LinkedIn. We gave Justin several poses to choose from and this one was his favorite. His company made a welcome post with this new headshot for all his new clients and previous associates to enjoy!
Liam is celebrating graduating later this year and wanted a session to capture some great photos of this time in his life. His dad and I got some great genuine smiles out of him during this session and ended up grabbing some awesome natural looking portraits. His whole family was looking forward to these and I am sure that a few are already on the mantle.
Every year we meet up with the Tapp family to capture some simple snapshots of their beautiful family. We walked around Barfield park and found some great spots to get the kids together for a quick smile. Not pictured in this one was the family dog - but at this very moment he was occupied with another passing pup.

Frequently Asked Questions
I favor transparent pricing and simplicity.
Portrait Sessions: I set up some general photoshoot pricing guidelines on the Portrait Pricing page, which includes accounting for locations, time spent with you to take the photos, planning, and photo editing. I wrap that all up into a package price so it's easy to choose what works best for you.
Family/Group Sessions: Similarly to portrait pricing, I set up some all-in pricing packages for these to help lay out options for what you're looking for. Ranging from the super simple to the robust, we have a package deal for just about every appetite for group portrait sessions.
Corporate/Event Photography: For events and corporate gatherings, the price comes from 3 layers. Cost to attend, hours needed, and post-processing time. We figure all three of those out together on a discovery call and have a clear calculation of price by the end of the chat.
I break down my style of photos into a few key words:
Natural
This comes first and is the center of how I capture my clients. It's hard to act like the guy with the camera isn't there. So to get around this, we engage in conversation while I shoot. Chatting, cutting up, and getting to know each other lightens the mood and removes the tension. After all, I'm just some dude you hired to take your pictures - it doesn't have to be that serious 🙂
Relaxed
Some folks get nervous around cameras, and often times that anxiety keeps them from booking the photoshoot in the first place. But if you've come this far, you should know I too get anxious when I am being photographed - so I've been there. When we do our shoot, we go through a 1 minute exercise together where we lean into being relaxed and calm together before we get to the capturing part of the session. Close your eyes. Breathe. Imagine you're in a serene place surrounded by nothing but nature. Slowly drift back to reality and rock your photoshoot.
Enthusiastically you
This part is the high goal of the shoot. Once we get started, I can pick up on your key characteristics, your strong poses, and tap into the vibe. There's not a single right way to photograph someone, and the best photographers in my opinion drill down to capture the personality during the brief time we spend on the shoot. Within the first 10 minutes I can narrow down how to get natural smiles, relaxed candid photos, and uncover your vision for the result for the rest of our time together.
I have some favorite spots around Rutherford county that I frequent and have explored over the years. We can get together and look at some previous locations to find out what is best for your vision - or most often - I choose one that is versatile and we go for it!
Some of my favorite spots:
☑️ Sharp Springs Park - Smyrna
☑️ Cannonsburgh Village - Murfreesboro
☑️ The Square - Murfreesboro
☑️ Barfield Crescent Park - Murfreesboro
☑️ The Depot - Smyrna
I also have a private studio space for professional headshots, backdrop style graduation photos, and newborn sessions.

I would like to say that Tyler was an awesome photographer. He was very patient with my 2 yr old granddaughter and done very well getting her to feel unafraid to smile. He was also respectful and professional. Thanks again. I would recommend you to everybody I know. And I have.
